Realistic explosions on the ground can be seen everywhere. When an enemy aircraft is taken out oil and debris is seen flying to the ground. Realistic sound effects combined with dazzling background graphics and fireballs make this game fast-paced with edge of your seat excitement. You will wonder as you play the game if your heart can take it. This game really pushes the envelope and takes aerial warfare to a new a pentacle. This is a must have game for the serious gamer.

Kazutoki Kono said in a recent interview that he was confident the new ace combat is the most “intense and visceral action shooting experience” in the ace combat series. He is right. He also said this was a rebirth of the premier franchise everyone knows as Ace Combat. One go-round with the game and it is easy to see he is correct on all accounts. There is no better aerial combat game that can come close to this one. People are on the edge of their seats everywhere waiting for the release.

So when will ace combat be released? So far all we know is sometime in 2011. I’m sure this game will sell out fast so keep watching for more news on a specific release day.

Borean Tundra

Many of the areas in the Wrath of the Lich King can only be reached if you find the ports.  This being said, the Borean Tundra is the largest area within the region.  Coming in off the waters you will be able to experience volcano shaped geysers along the way.  Don’t treat this land as friendly territory because many unwanted monsters will be ready to attack.  Just be sure you have your guard up.

Crystalsong Forest

If you want to escape all the deadly ruins and recent drudge along the land, then feast your eyes on the Crystalsong Forest.  Instead of the usual green and darker colors, this area is astonishing with all the nature masked with a crystal style.  While it is definitely enchanting, the whole story behind it is that the crystals produce magic throughout the land.  Unfortunately you won’t be able to reach this area until your character hits Levels 77-80.

The Dalaran Sanctuary

Anyone looking for a middle ground between the Alliance and Hordes will definitely enjoy the Dalaran Sanctuary.  This neutral site is feasible for everyone even though there are parts that can only be entered if you are part of the Alliance or Horde.  However, everyone can still enjoy the location all while keeping the peace at the same time.  Then again someone might be waiting for you when you leave.

Grizzly Hills

So, what’s the first thing you think about when you see Grizzly Hills come up on the list?  Sounds like a place where the bears roam right?  Well, outside of the calming Sanctuary, this area can be quite peaceful.  It is surrounded with Dwarves and the occasional Scourge or Furblogs.  One thing to note about the area is it has seasonal scenery going from springtime to winter.  One of the quests requires you to venture into the Dungeon for a substantial amount of XP for your character.

Icecrown Glacier

You want the good news or bad news first?  Well the good news is there isn’t any living monsters in the area.  Unfortunately there are several undead ones that could put a hurting on your Health and Mana.  When you finally reach this stage, you are sure to know who’s waiting in the wings.  This is the area you will find the Lich King after months of traveling through the rest of the land.

Howling Fjord

If you are part of the Alliance then you will have no problems in Howling Fjord.  This area is full of large frontal mountains with winding waters situated in between.  Once you hit the deep secluded forests you are sure to run into danger.  The setup is layered like levels such as old classic games like Donkey Kong.  However the graphics are fantastic and unmatched by any other game.  If you want to get here you’ll want to hop on the boat.

Lake Wintergrasp

The name is quite deceiving because you could search the Lich King region and soon realize it is nowhere to be found.  Then again, you might come across it instantly depending on what level your character is at the present time.  The landscape seems to be a big secret considering the ultimate boss lives there.  So enjoy the surroundings while you can, because it won’t take long before he gets the best of you.

Sholazar Basin

Once you reach levels in between 75-78 Sholazar Basin will then be available.  In our own opinions this is the coolest area on the map.  Positioned in the center of a tropical jungle this area offers waterfalls and fantastic graphics.  We haven’t had the opportunity to play in the big war this part gives you but it looks awesome!  Hopefully it will live up to all the expectations.  We imagine it will.

The Dragonblight

Traveling this land is like walking through something that has been deserted for years.  Dragonblight is where dragons go to die and Nerubians come to square off with you.  This is a pretty interesting area and we don’t want to spoil it for you.  If you are having problems finding it, make sure to travel south of Crystalsong Forest.  Just make sure you keep an eye out for the undead animals along the way.

The Storm Peaks

Just north of Crystalsong Forest, the Storm Peaks are home to a gruesome bunch ready to send you packing.  There are several caves and three dungeons amongst this area.  The only thing you need to remember is that once you reach any of these locations (including the Storm Peaks) you better bring some friends.  The dungeons are set up for 5, 10, and 25 man teams so be prepared.  Even at level 80 you could be in trouble.

Zul’Drak

It is said that you shouldn’t even try settling in Zul’Drak unless you are trying to find the Drakkari trolls.  However, you won’t find them before running into a few Ice Trolls or Wendigos along the way.  If you happen to make it past them then there will more on the way and in bigger numbers.  Uninvited guests are definitely not welcome in Zul’Drak.  Oh and one more thing, be sure to set aside about of hour of your time if you plan on venturing into these lands.

The Overview

To be honest these are just overviews of the areas in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack.  We purposely left out several details so we wouldn’t ruin it for you when you get there.  Then again, if had written everything out you would be reading for many more hours.  So just be happy we stopped now.  Have fun.

Mines of Moria

Based on the work of its kind founder, Lord of the Rings Online is an MMORPG which, far from claiming to compete with the insatiable predator World of Warcraft, has nevertheless managed to find its audience. Turbine is trying to move up a gear with the first paying extension of the game: Mines of Moria. An ambitious undertaking, since it seems difficult to breathe a new life in an MMO the epic of this cult episode in the novel by Tolkien.
The Lord of the Rings Online is always so beautiful in its outdoors: landscapes are a visual beauty and an enchanting poetry. In the mines, it is a bit more mixed: without vegetation and without blur effects, decors reveal polygons that are too visible and too projecting. But these imperfections are erased in the front of the craftsmanship work done on the design of the dwarf architecture. The characters, however, are still too bland.
The Lord of the Rings Online is a MMORPG as accessible and easy to handle as can be World of Warcraft. It’s too bad that its gameplay does not have the same dynamism. To compensate for that, the two new classes of characters add a technical and strategic dimension that was lacking in the fighting.
Moria is not as large as they wanted us to believe, but the different areas are the promise of many hours of extra gaming, supported by new skills and new features that will lead you gently to level 60. Also note the addition of new instances, a legendary weapon system and two additional classes of characters. This should fully satisfy the most demanding players.

Mines Of Moria

A successful soundtrack can often boost a game that suffers from a lack of rhythm and a fairly soft action. This is unfortunately not the case here: if they invite contemplation and underline the disproportionate and grandiose aspects of the decorations, musical compositions don’t bring an epic dimension to the events taking place there. The sound effects are about as rare as tactful: where is the echo which reinforces the oppression sensation, where are the drums sounds in the distance?
This is probably the biggest disappointment of this extension: if it was hard to adapt the passage from the cult novel by Tolkien that is Moria, the lack of inspiration that shown the writers is sad to see. The narration is slow, the staging is peaky, the loading is too long and quests lack of interest. The world of Tolkien is well reproduced, but we would have preferred it to be something interesting.
With Mines of Moria, The Lord of the Rings Online gets a solid expansion in terms of content and new features but disappointing in terms of gaming enjoyment and immersion. The immensity of Moria is only matched to his tendency to empty, his quests very agreed and his lack of epic. It is not all to propose any grandiose and respectful surroundings of the Tolkien’s work: it must also be something interesting and catchy enough to attract the player. Beside, Turbine introduces a legendary weapon system rather convincing and two classes of characters devilishly attractive. Overall, this extension deserves attention, but no more than those offered for free since the release of the game.

It is true that sometimes the mini games seem too easy to play and those pop up screen for help may be rather irritating. Despite such minor things, this game is full of fun and excitement.

Fable II is the successor to a game that has received many positive reviews and has developed somewhat of a cult following over the years. This gave Fable II a very large amount of hype and lots of expectations that are, quite frankly, difficult to live up to for anybody.

Luckily, Lionhead Studios knew what they were going into with this game, and knew just how to pull it off.

The entire premise of Fable II is choice. You get to choose what you want to do… Whether you want to be a good guy, or a bad guy. Every little choice you make follows you throughout the game and makes changes to the environment and people around you, including what you look like, and even your dog.

The combat system in Fable II is very intuitive, allowing for smooth, simple play, while still retaining an amount of user control. It’s not a largely in-depth system, but it’s good enough, and it gets the job done.

Throughout the game, you can train certain skills – Magic, fighting, and the like… But, it really all adds up to one final result; You being good at everything. By the end of the game, you should be so trained in everything that you can take basically anything on, which was a bit of a disappointment to me, because I spent a lot of time in the beginning of the game working on specific skills and wanting to excel in just them.

Your dog plays a pretty big role in the game. As you go through, your dog can help you battle, and it can also find treasure. This came in handy when you needed an item to sell, and occasionally you’d also find a good item that can help you in the game.

In Fable II, you procure your money by having a job. There are many jobs that you can choose to do, but there are really two main things you have to do – In some jobs, it’s all about combat, but in others you just hit the A button when it tells you to. Both of these can get dry and boring pretty fast, so this wasn’t necessarily an exhilarating point in the game for me.

All-in-all, Fable II is a great game with many great qualities, but it is lacking in some spots. I found myself switching discs to play another game pretty often in the beginning, but as you get more into the game, it gets more and more exciting and you’ll get more consumed into it.

It’s definitely worth it to check it out if you liked the first one, but it’s not necessarily a revolutionary game.
